The very first thing we do as the season of Christmas approaches is to have our Christmas lights up on Thanksgiving weekend. (Well, we really start listening to Christmas music around Halloween, but that doesn't really count!!) Aly had just finished knee physical therapy and couldn't climb on the ladder this year, so that left Jacque to brave the roof alone. With Jacque's work schedule, we really only had one Saturday to complete this "fun" tradition, so we got down all the lights and decorations and planned our day. Unfortunately, the weather did NOT get the memo about our plans and decided to rain, hail, and basically make our usually fun day a "fun, but very cold" day. Jacque and Aly were troopers though. They know how much it means to me to have our lights up, and they did the best they could!
Love my girls!!
We also have to move the piano a "smidgen" so we can put up the Christmas tree. The kids (Aaron) thought it would be funny to block their mama in! Funny, Funny kids!
Another tradition that Jacque and Aly started many years ago is getting that first present under the Christmas tree. Aly has been the champion for a few years running. Last year, she came home from Mexico on December 20th, and was still the first to get her present under the tree.
But not this year.....
Jacque went shopping and found the "perfect" gift for Aly and quickly wrapped it and wah-lah! She is the new champion of gifting first!
(by the way....it was the Justin Bieber Perfume that was in the box!)
