Happy Birthday Jacque!

Jacque wanted to relax and celebrate with "the girls" this year.  So, we convinced Darleen to join us (from Tucson) for dinner at Brio (mom and dad too) and a relaxing stay at a close-by resort.  After dinner, we were joined by some more fabulous girls - Cassidi, Jenny, and Savannah - and we went to a movie.  Back to the resort for some late night Mormon-Bridge, and morning massages.  We ended the afternoon at our new favorite gelato place - Frost.  It was a wonderful way to relax and celebrate Jacque's birthday.

Some of the things we love about Jacque:
*  She always makes sure everyone else is taken care of first.  Maybe this is because of her profession, but many times, I have seen her help and take care of those she loves the most before her own needs and feelings.  If there was ever a true friend, it would be Jacque!

*  She cherishes the relationships she has with her family.  She is a family girl through and through and loves to celebrate through traditions, family dinners, and a few extravagant parties!

*  She continues to amaze me with her determination to learn and develop new talents.  Her cooking is famously decadent and her cute house is full of crafts and plants she continually is working on.

*  She loves life.  The good, the bad, the yucky, the adventures, and the reality of the moment.  This past year has been a hard one, yet Jacque looks for the positive, works towards her goals, and relishes the moments she has with those she loves.
What a blessing to have this daughter in our lives!  Jacque brings a sweet joy into our lives and we are indeed blessed to have her close in so many ways!!
Happy Birthday!!!  We love you!!

Happy Birthday Savannah!!

This picture is my new favorite of Savannah because it shows so many things about her that I love:

*  She is beautiful on the outside and the inside.  Her heart is pure and she would do anything for you if she knew you needed a friend, a listening ear, or a clean kitchen.

*  She is sassy - in a good way of course!  She isn't afraid to share her opinions, but never wants to hurt your feelings.  She is honest and trustworthy and her family loves that about her.

*  She is Aaron's life.  If I need a happy thought, I think of these two flirting in my kitchen, shopping together and bickering over what fruit to buy, trying new recipes, flying to all sorts of new destinations, working out together, trying to live a healthy lifestyle together....they are together in every way...I love that about them!!

*  Savannah is a family girl.  She is the one that calls to set up dinner night, she is always holding one of the babies at our house, she pitches in even when she is tired, she doesn't complain about life's plan for her, and her humor can cheer anyone needing a lift.

Savannah, I hope you have a wonderful birthday.  You are such a vital part of our family and I love you as if you were one of my own.  I feel blessed to call you my daughter!
LOVE YOU!!

Easter Memories

Getting together our whole family for the annual Easter pictures is getting harder and trickier each year.  6 different schedules, church, nap time, family time, and "attitude adjustments" (yes, even adults need them every once in a while!!) all help to make family pictures one fun experience.  However, with much cajoling and pleading from the Mom and Grammy, we succeeded in capturing some of the priceless personality moments of the Weech Family:

In the evening, we headed over to Grammy and Grampy's for some Easter Egg fun:
Dailynd racing to find the eggs

Cami looking in all the bushes

The older crowd waiting for their turn

Faye found the Golden egg - not pictured

Lizzie showing off her stash

Ashley helping Grammy find all the eggs

Clay and Lincoln making sure all the hiding spots are cleared

Random Moments of Happiness

Every once in a while we need a good laugh, a smile in our heart, or just something to keep us going when we are stressed with life.  This post is just random happy moments that we have experienced lately:
We were watching old family videos and came across this video - as Jade was playing with the "Elephant Game".  Yes, that is Aly in the background when she was about 3 and Jacque with curlers in her hair...um.....Aly didn't need curlers ever!

Jade convincing Aaron and Savannah that she needed "more" whip cream.  Can you count how many people Jade has wrapped around her cute little fingers??

Jade loves to go down the stairs - Grammy.....not so much.  But here I am, going up and down with Jade as she scooches down the stairs and then runs back up them again.

After delivering pizzas to the nice firemen, Grandpa had the radio going and the girls in the back of the truck had fun (Aly, Jacque and Jade)

Tyler throwing her in the air - and Jade loving it

Doesn't this is great?  The weekend before Easter, the YW of Pima 1st Ward came down to watch the Easter Pageant and needed a place to stay.  We gladly opened our home to 22 young women and 5 of their leaders including the Bishop!  It was so much fun to  have our house full of youth!  Crazy as it sounds, I would do it again in a heartbeat.  There were girls in every room, downstairs, on couches, and the floor.  They were very courteous and considerate of our home.  The next morning, we fed them gourmet pancakes and all the trimmings.  My kind of morning.  They cleaned up quick and headed out for a morning of fun, I am sure.  Bishop hinted that he would like to have the YM come down. I'm ok with this....just need to double the food intake!!

Just a hint at our Easter...

50 - The Celebration Continues

After a wonderful day of ROAK's, Thursday, I went to my kindergarten class that I am doing some school service learning with.  I love these little kiddos and the teacher is amazing!  I got to the class and found this on the door:

That evening, the kids all got together and cooked an amazing meal for our family.  I have been blessed with 4 girls who CAN COOK.  Even Aaron gets in the kitchen and loves to taste and adjust the flavors.  It is one of my all time favorite memories and happy thought....... my kitchen full of family, laughing, tasting, running into each other, and finally - eating scrumptious food.

Not one type of chicken - 3 different types to test and try - YUMMY!!

Jade loved helping Grammy open her presents!

Blurry - but the best feeling in the world!!
It was a wonderful evening, that I THOUGHT was the end of my birthday celebration - I was mistaken......

I had a Future Teacher Conference I was at on Friday, March 9th.  It was held at South Mountain Community College and was quite the experience.  Aly had called and wanted to go to the movies with me that evening.  HUH??
1 - It is a FRIDAY and Aly usually has plans that do NOT involve her mamma
2 - I was going to be tired from being at a conference for 7.5 hours

I tried to suggest watching a movie at the house, but then plans "changed" and she wanted to get pedicures together.  WEIRD.  Jacque was suppose to be on a date and since Savannah was out of town, Aaron was "doing laundry and sleeping over" for the evening.  It was going to be a quiet evening, one that I was looking forward to.  I picked Aly up at the house, which she was OUTSIDE waiting for me - I didn't pick up on ANYthing.  We went to get our toesies all nice and pretty and headed home.

Even now, as I type this blog post, I am overwhelmed with the love and friendship that was shown me this evening.
Yep - that expression is exactly how I looked and felt!!

My family had planned a surprise party that blew me away.  So many friends and family took time out of their busy, busy lives to celebrate this "milestone" in my life.  I cannot begin to express the embarrassment first, but appreciation to all who came, shared their love and feelings, wrote in a book of love, and enjoyed an evening with our family.  It was a wonderful evening - one that I will never forget.

How could the food be anything but perfect with this amazing person behind the grill??
